New Approved Trust Accounting Software Vendors

November 26, 2018

In 2011, we introduced the Electronic Trust Transaction Reporting (ETTR) Program, enabling lawyers to electronically submit trust accounting data through our secure File Sharing Site.

Currently, law firms must submit their electronic data upload in a standard format to allow us to verify compliance with trust accounting requirements. At this time, there are four approved trust accounting software vendors: PCLaw, Unity® Accounting (previously known as ESILaw), Cosmolex and Clio.

As we transition our analytics and audit services to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the new Connect Tool for data uploads, four additional trust accounting software vendors will be approved as of December 31, 2018: BriefLegal, Acumin, Elite and Aderant. More information and links to these new vendors will be provided on the Law Society website once they are approved.

“Currently, 80 per cent of law firms generate and submit their data using the approved trust accounting software,” says Chioma Ufodike, Manager of Trust Safety. “Our goal is to have all law firms submitting their data electronically by 2022.”
