Continuing Professional Development: Year-End Reflection
The Law Society’s online Continuing Professional Development Tool (CPD Tool), available through the Lawyer Portal provides opportunities for lawyers to engage with their CPD plans throughout the year. The Year-End Reflection feature is now available in the CPD Tool dashboard.
You are encouraged to use the Year-End Reflection for competencies you focused on throughout the year to determine if you met your goals as well as plan for the next CPD year. The CPD Tool will guide you through assessing whether your proficiency rating for each competency has changed and recording any final notes or observations.
The Law Society will not see your reflections or ratings; they are for you to assess the effectiveness of your CPD plan and make any adjustments for next year. You will get more out of the Year-End Reflection if you update your progress on learning activities in the Track Progress feature in the CPD Tool, but both features may be used independently.
The Year-End Reflection will remain open until Sept. 30, when the 2024-2025 CPD cycle ends. For more information, review the CPD Tool User Guide, Optional Features Guide, CPD FAQs and CPD Resources.
