Canadian Multiculturalism Day – June 27, 2023
Canadian Multiculturalism Day is a time for Canadians to celebrate our cultural diversity and reaffirm our commitments to equity, inclusion and mutual respect for one another.
Multiculturalism is a cornerstone of our provincial and national identity. In 2046, Alberta’s population is expected to add an additional two million people to its population while becoming increasingly diverse, as arrivals from other countries account for about 55 per cent of the expected growth over the projection period.
This day of recognition is part of the ‘Celebrate Canada‘ days, which highlight our ethnic, linguistic, cultural and regional diversity, and help make Canada a truly welcoming country. More than summer celebrations, they are opportunities to reflect on our values, our past and our future as a society.
