General Counsel Announcement

The Law Society of Alberta is pleased to announce that Sarah Klein has joined the Executive Leadership Team in the role of General Counsel, effective Sept. 2, 2025.

Prior to joining the Law Society, Sarah served as Deputy General Counsel for Dentons Canada, where she collaborated with firm leadership on risk management issues, providing advice on ethics, practice and claims matters to lawyers across the firm.

In addition, Sarah served as the Director of Learning at Dentons, where she successfully developed a national harmonized education program for law students and associates, as well as leadership development initiatives for high-potential associates and new partners. Sarah recently completed her term as the Chair of the Board of the Alberta Law Libraries, where she has been on the board for six years.

Called to the Alberta bar in 2008, Sarah began her legal career clerking at the Court of Appeal of Alberta. She gained further experience at two global law firms, including several years in transactional practice and six years as a research lawyer at Dentons. Sarah holds a BA from Queen’s University, an LLB from the University of Victoria, and an LLM from the University of Toronto.

In this position, Sarah will be involved in key matters such as the Innovation Sandbox, litigation management and several other organizational risk management activities, as well as privacy matters with the Tribunal Counsel.
