In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, join the Law Society for a virtual discussion on the Indigenous Judicial Shadowing Programs offered by the Alberta Courts. Join the Law Society’s Indigenous Counsel, Jessica Buffalo, Madam Justice Cheryl Arcand-Kootenay of the Court of King’s Bench, Justice Derek Redman and Clarissa Pearce of the Alberta Court of Justice and Crystal Hayden, a future participant of the Program.
Justice Arcand-Kootenay reflects on the creation of her mentorship program in partnership with University of Alberta. Together with law student Crystal Hayden, they discuss why the program was created and the benefits of participating. The Court of Justice, Justice Redman, and ACJ counsel Clarissa Pearce discuss the Court of Justice’s Indigenous Justice Strategy and the Indigenous Judicial Mentorship Program initiative that was created for participating with the Court of Justice.
