More Info

After ten years of the Prosecution of Animal Abuse conference, they have decided to change things up this year.

This year, the conference will bring together students who are interested in animal abuse prosecutions and new professionals who may be unfamiliar with animal abuse files and how to deal with them, in a two-day virtual event that we hope will engage, inform and inspire a new generation.

Registration is officially open for the Prosecution of Animal Abuse: Student Symposium, taking place Wednesday, Jan. 14 and Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.

This two-day event brings together students and emerging professionals in law, law enforcement, veterinary medicine, and animal welfare for an engaging and practical learning experience focused on the investigation and prosecution of animal cruelty cases.

Designed to inform and inspire the next generation of leaders in this field, the symposium will cover key topics such as:

  • How animal abuse cases progress through the justice system
  • Collaboration between Crowns, animal welfare officers, and police
  • The use of expert witness testimony in animal cruelty prosecutions

Whether you’re pursuing a career in animal law or simply want to better understand the role your field plays in animal protection, this event is an invaluable opportunity to connect with experts and peers who share your passion.

Be part of a national conversation shaping the future of animal protection and justice!
