More Info

The Law Society is hosting a webinar in partnership with Land Titles and Surveys Alberta on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at noon.

Join Lisa Chen, Executive Director of Land Titles and Surveys, as she shares updates to the land titles submission process and discusses the critical importance of ensuring accuracy in all submissions prior to filing. Minister Dale Nally, Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction; Minister Mickey Amery, Minister of Justice; and Stacy Petriuk, KC, President of the Law Society of Alberta, will also provide opening remarks for the virtual event. There will be a question-and-answer period at the end of the presentation, time permitting.

This presentation is designed to be directly relevant to lawyers by providing practical insight into how land titles submission errors affect registration timelines and client outcomes, and how those risks can be mitigated through improved submission practices. It equips lawyers with uptodate information on registry process changes, including queue management, refund processing, and Alberta Registries Land Online (ARLO) enhancements, while also outlining the transition toward a more electronic registration system.

Attending will help lawyers anticipate procedural changes, reduce avoidable delays and costs, and better advise clients as the registry continues to modernize.
