- Set Yourself up for Success in a New Sole Practice
The Law Society of Alberta hosted a Zoom webinar providing guidance for opening a new sole practice.
Our Practice Management Counsel discussed what you need in place before opening your door and the processes that will support you afterward. Other topics covered during the session included:
- trust safety rules;
- reporting obligations; and
- practical approaches to managing clients, time, email and files so you can serve your clients well and meet your professional obligations.
Please note: Some of the dates referenced in this recorded webinar are only applicable for 2026.
On May 7, 2026, the Law Society approved a revised key date and deadline schedule for 2027, which was communicated via eBulletin and made available on our website.
If you would like to speak with Practice Management Counsel one-on-one about opening a new sole practice, or if you have another practice management concern or question, please submit a request for a Practice Management Consultation and they will reach out to schedule a virtual meeting.
