Mental Health Week 2026: Legal Community Events

April 23, 2026

Mental Health Week, taking place May 4–8, is an opportunity to reflect on well-being and build healthier, more sustainable practices within the legal profession.

Alberta Lawyers’ Assistance Society (Assist)

Lawyer Well-Being Week is part of a broader initiative that grew out of an American Bar Association report on lawyer well-being, which led to the creation of a dedicated week to promote healthier, more sustainable legal careers. Its timing alongside Canada’s Mental Health Week offers a meaningful opportunity to focus on wellness in our profession.

Throughout Lawyer Well-Being Week, Assist programming will offer opportunities to explore key dimensions of well-being and build skills to thrive. Sessions include:

  • Monday: Red Mug Coffee Circle (social)
  • Tuesday: 15 Minute Mindfulness Session (spiritual/emotional)
  • Wednesday: Virtual and In-person Yoga (physical)
  • Thursday: Session on Psychological First Aid led by Dr. Forbes (social, emotional, occupational, and intellectual)
  • Friday: Casual outdoor walk at noon (physical/social)

Assist encourages you to join in Lawyer Well-Being Week and take time to invest in your personal growth so you can flourish and thrive in your career.

Canadian Bar Association – Alberta Branch (CBA Alberta)

CBA Alberta is committed to reducing stigma and fostering open, supportive conversations around mental health. Throughout the week, CBA Alberta is offering a curated series of programs designed to provide practical tools, insights and strategies to help you navigate both your professional and personal life.
