One of the ways the Law Society fulfills our mandate to protect the public is to support lawyers in providing quality legal service to their clients. We want to ensure that all lawyers are able to realize their potential and provide competent and ethical legal service to their clients.
Our Practice Management Department has gained extensive experience over the years working with lawyers whose practices are well organized and with those that are not working at an optimal level. We use that experience to help lawyers identify areas for improvement using tools and systems they already have and offering suggestions to assist them further.
Working with one-on-one with lawyers allows us to identify potential areas of risk before problems develop and client relations suffer. We focus on things like file management and file-recall strategies, timekeeping options and use of technology, all in the name of making your practice more effective and efficient. We offer this assistance free of charge.
A Practice Management staff member meets with lawyers several times over the course of three months to assist them in addressing problems and to help improve office procedures and practices.
The goal is to help lawyers make better use of existing software, equipment and staff, while providing solutions to reduce the stress of day-to-day challenges and improve their bottom line.
Responsible Lawyer Office Visit Program
This is a voluntary program through which lawyers who have applied for Responsible Lawyer status are invited to engage with Practice Management on an informal basis. A Practice Management staff member meets with lawyers to offer assistance in relation to common Responsible Lawyer inquiries, as well as provide additional practice management techniques.
