We are transitioning our Trust Safety analytics and audit services to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) effective immediately as we prepare for the 2019 Trust Safety Annual Filings (Annual Filings).
The transition of the analytics and audit services to PwC does not impact the designated year-end filing date. All law firms are still required to submit their Annual Filings by March 31, 2019.
Lawyers will see minor process changes in how the electronic data and Accountant’s Report are submitted as part of the Annual Filings.
The electronic data upload and the Accountant’s Report will now be uploaded and submitted using a new PwC Connect Tool (Connect Tool) and not the Accellion file transfer site.
As all law firms will be required to use the Connect Tool for their Annual Filings, Responsible Lawyers will automatically be enrolled in the system and set up with an account. An email will be sent directly to all Responsible Lawyers with instructions on how to login and use the Tool.
We will no longer accept data through the secure file sharing site Accellion.

The Law Firm Self-Report is still submitted online through the Lawyer Portal.
Generating electronic trust accounting data
Currently, law firms are required to submit electronic data in a standard format to allow us to verify compliance with trust accounting requirements. At this time, there are four approved trust accounting software vendors: PCLaw, ESILaw, Cosmolex and Clio.
By December 31, 2018 there will be four additional approved trust accounting software vendors: BriefLegal, Acumin, Elite and Aderant.
Law firms can use any of the eight approved software vendors to generate trust accounting data before uploading it to the Connect Tool. For more information about the approved software vendors, click here.
We are committed to help you through the transition to the new filing Tool. Trust Safety staff is available to answer questions and provide any help you may need. Do not hesitate to contact us. Please email Trust Safety or call 403.228.5632.
