Bencher Recruitment
The Law Society of Alberta is mandated to govern the legal profession in the public interest. Lawyers throughout the province are elected to sit as Benchers to fulfill that mandate. The next Bencher election will be held in November 2011.
The contribution of lawyers to Law Society of Alberta governance in the public interest is of critical importance to self-regulation. Lawyers from all communities, practice and work areas, firm sizes and geographic locations are encouraged to run for election as Bencher.
